I turned it on one day and got that "Ram Corrupted" - settings. You can actually buy the 2 and 3 prong battery holders from Amazon or Ebay or any electronic place. but it turns out that the G-Force and most of the TC stuff has this freaking soldered in solid battery situation going on. I realize this is a little late by years and years. I suppose in all honesty it doesn't surprise me considering basically everything's made in China, Tiawan etc. Gear that this answer shows up under in their knowledgebase: If the unit is outside warrenty, please get in touch with your nearest dealer, who can help you send in the unit for repair. If the test fails, please get in touch with the dealer you bought it from, to have the battery exchanged under warrenty. Select the appropriate test program and press ENTER Then, select RUN TEST PROGRAM from the menu, and press ENTERģ. Hold the BYPASS button while powering up, to enter the reset menu.Ģ. For more information regarding entering the self test program, please refer to your users manual.ġ. You could also try to perform the self test program - this info will make it easier to locate the error.

If your unit is still under warranty, you can have it replaced free of charge. This problem could be caused by a defective battery. I also have lost all my user presets, and when I program a new one, it will not remember it when I power the unit off. When I power up the display says "RAM is corrupted, settings cleared". Keep in mind these are all fairly new products and I've never had a battery fail on me before and from what you typically hear batteries should last 10-20 years.Įrror message saying "RAM is corrupted, settings cleared" on power up Then there's a "blanket answer" that shows up under Some rack gear BUT Not all therefore these models are prolly going to do the same thing at some point in the near future. The battery is soldered into the mainboard and should be replaced by a skilled technician. You can order the battery at your TC Electronic dealer, distibutor or service centre, TC order code: 342000011. The battery in the G-Force is a Lithium battery 3V/200mA / CR2032RV. What is the component type of the battery in the G-Force? hate to say it but what a way to make money. You'd think they'd offer some kind of repair service for a bad run they did but no. I mean I've never even had a computer battery die on me let alone a battery from any of my gear. I would definitely do alot of asking or researching before buying their rack gear sounds like they're cutting corners in their designs and still charging an arm and a leg only to have it wind up as a doorstop. Read the FAQs and it looks like a fair amount of their shit suffers from drained batteries. those guys shelled out $2000-2500! Like I said there was a forum I found this guy's post where he said his Finalizer did the same shit as mine and he had received correspondence from TC stating the RAM chip used to store the data is what drained the batteries. I feel bad for the people who own the Finalizers that apparently used the same chips in this run.

It was supposedly based on the multiband built into the Finalizer. The closest thing they make now is the C400XL but it's only 2 bands the Triple-C is obviously 3 bands. The cost of replacing the battery (as I've never soldered on a PCB and kinda scared to fuck with it) is close to the cost of what I paid for it in the 1st place.

seems that this may well be your fate at some point in the near future.Īnyone else with a TC rack doing this or giving them errors? This thing sounds like it was designed by Behringer.Īnyone with an earlier version of the Finalizer definitely be careful. A frickin $5 part that should normally last 10-20 years and $250 right off the top for them to look at it before labor tack on prolly $50 for the labor an voila $300. since the battery's soldered and is not in anyway indicated as to where the fuck it's located in the circuit (does not at all resemble your basic internal battery) TC charges a bench fee of $250 just to look at it before changing the f-ing battery. commonly suffer from batteries draining quickly. Further research led me to find a forum in which a Finalizer owner said his correspondence with TC Electronics ultimately ended up in learning that the choice of internal ram chip used in the Finalizer (and I'm sure is related to the Triple-C) led to the internal backup batteries draining on average of 2-3 years! Well low and behold here I am a little over three years in and have an errored, non-booting Triple-C.įurther research on their support FAQs revealed that many devices made around this time, some Fireworx units, reverb units etc. maybe the internal battery? Opened it up and the battery's f-ing soldered onto the PCB. My Triple-C's been blinking at me on and off and not loading for a few days now. anyone ever thinking of buying a Finalizer or Triple-C Compressor don't!
